Edgewood & Harrison Share 2020 SWOC Volleyball Championship

The Edgewood Cougars and the Harrison Wildcats are 2020 SWOC Volleyball Co-Champions.  Edgewood finished the season 15-5 overall (9-1 SWOC) and Harrison finished 18-4 overall (9-1 SWOC).  This makes the second SWOC title for the Wildcats (2018 and 2020) and the first SWOC title for the Cougars.  The two teams split their head to head conference matchups.  Harrison was victorious on September 17, by the scores of 25-19, 25-14, 26-24.  Edgewood took the rematch on October 15, by the scores of 25-22, 25-14, 25-22.  These two teams were so evenly matched that their point differential versus each other was 2 points.  Sitting atop SWOC statistical categories are Edgewood’s Bekah Klinedinst (Aces) and Harrison’s Emily Janszen (Assists), Jenna Bittner (Digs), and Faith Young (Kills).  Congratulations and good luck in the postseason to both teams and their coaches, Edgewood’s Jessica Hollinger and Harrison’s Phil Deak!  The Cougars begin tournament play on Tuesday, October 20 against Walnut Hills, while the Wildcats begin on Wednesday, October 21 versus Wilmington.
