Preview of the 2020 SWOC Girls Tennis Tournament

The Southwest Ohio Conference Girls Tennis Tournament will take place on Thursday, October 1, at 8:30 AM at Harrison High School.  Heading into the tournament, Ross 14-4 (5-0 SWOC), Talawanda 9-9 (4-1 SWOC), and Harrison 6-10 (3-2 SWOC) are atop the final regular season SWOC standings.  The following tennis players headline the conference statistical list:  1st Singles, Sara McGinnis (Ross) 11-9 (5-0 SWOC); 2nd Singles, Thia Mohr (Ross) 14-6 (5-0 SWOC); 3rd Singles, Jenna Williams (Ross) 16-3 (5-0 SWOC); 1st Doubles, Hannah Adkins-Lamb/Isabel Lykins (Talawanda) 16-2 (5-0 SWOC); and 2nd Doubles, Madalyn Abrams/Kaylah Adams (Ross) 15-4 (5-0 SWOC).  The SWOC Girls Tennis Championship is decided by a combination of the regular season final standings and this tournament.  Team placements are awarded the following points:  1st = 7 points; 2nd = 5 points; 3rd = 4 points; 4th = 3 points; 5th = 2 points; and 6th = 1 point. Then, both point totals (regular season and tournament) are added together to determine the Final Standings and the conference champion. Past SWOC Championships have been won by Talawanda four times, defending champion Harrison and Ross twice, and Edgewood once.  Good luck to all these SWOC athletes during this tournament which will help decide the 2020 SWOC Championship!
