Talawanda Wins 2019 SWOC Boys Golf Championship


The Talawanda Brave, of first year Head Coach Don Gloekner, are winners of the 2019 SWOC Boys Golf Championship.  This is the fifth overall SWOC title for the Brave and their first since 2016.  Talawanda was undefeated in regular season conference matches (10-0) and won today's conference tournament by shooting a 340 at Miami Whitewater Golf Course.  The Brave finished one stroke ahead of the runner-up Ross Rams, who shot a 341 for the day.  The team standings from today's tournament are:  1. Talawanda (340); 2. Ross (341); 3. Harrison (347); 4. Edgewood (363); 5. Little Miami (375); and 6. Northwest (483).  Today's medalist and SWOC Athlete of the Year, Sam Bischel (Harrison) shot a 76, four strokes better than his closest competitor.  Harrison's Trevor Ward was selected as SWOC Coach of the Year.  For complete results, please go to the Boys Golf - Tournament tab.
