Boys Tennis Tournament Preview


On Wednesday, May 1, the Southwest Ohio Conference Boys Tennis Tournament will held at Miami University with competition scheduled to begin at 8:30 AM.  Talawanda 11-5 (4-0 SWOC) and Northwest 8-8 (4-1 SWOC) are atop the SWOC standings heading into the tournament.  The defending champion Brave will be looking to win their fourth SWOC title, while the Knights are aiming to capture their first ever SWOC title.  During the regular season, Talawanda defeated Northwest 5-0 on April 18.  The following tennis players lead the conference statistical list:  1st Singles, 2018 SWOC Player of the Year Matthew Lockman (Little Miami) 12-0 (4-0 SWOC); 1st Singles, Jarrett Clawson (Talawanda) 8-8 (3-1 SWOC); 1st Singles, Tu Cao (Northwest) 11-8 (3-2 SWOC); 1st Doubles, Jake Clawson/Brandon Durrough (Talawanda) 8-7 (4-0 SWOC); 1st Doubles, Junior N'Guessan/Richard Yamada (Northwest) 8-4 (4-1 SWOC) and 1st Doubles, Ryan Cooper/Logan Williams (Little Miami) 2-1 (2-1 SWOC).  Good luck to all of our SWOC athletes and coaches during this tournament which will decide the 2019 SWOC Championship!
