FALL Update: 10/3

10/03/2016

BOYS SOCCER

The conference remains close with Talawanda and Ross battling for the top spot. Talawanda holds a 2-0-0 league record, while Ross is the first to three league wins at 3-1-0. The pair end the season with a match at Ross on Oct. 13 that could decide the league.

Harrison and Edgewood are close behind, both at 2-2-0.

GIRLS SOCCER

Little Miami's dominant season on the pitch continues. The Panthers are 12-1-0 overall and 5-0-0 in the SWOC. Little Miami currently holds a one-game lead over Ross (7-5-1, 4-1-0) for the conference race.

Little Miami can clinch the league title outright with a win over Edgewood on Oct. 4.

Harrison and Northwest are a step back at 2-2-0 in the league.

VOLLEYBALL

Little Miami gave itself a chance in the league by beating Talawanda on Sept. 27. Talawanda, at 7-1 in the league, still controls its destiny in the SWOC pursuit. With Little Miami (7-2) right on its heels, the Braves can win the league by winning their four remaining conference games (against Mount Healthy, Edgewood, Ross and Northwest).

Ross and Harrison are both 5-4 in the league, and Northwest's 4-4.

FOOTBALL

The collision course remains intact for Edgewood (5-1, 3-0) and Mount Healthy (6-0, 2-0) and their scheduled Week 10 showdown. If everything stays the way it is now, that would essentially amount to a conference championship game at Edgewood on Oct. 28.

Edgewood continues to play complete football, beating opponents on both sides of the ball.

Mount Healthy's shown an ability to win close games and the Owls' defense hasn't allowed more than 14 points in a game yet this season.

Harrison improved to 3-3 overall and 2-1 in the league with a 48-13 win over Talawanda. Northwest also came back and held on to beat Little Miami 23-17 for its first conference win of the season.
