FALL Update: 9/19
Week 4: Mount Healthy remains unbeaten (4-0) after a barnburner win, 17-14, over Little Miami to opener conference play on Sept. 16.
Edgewood performed at a high level again in a 42-14 win over Northwest. Edgewood quarterback Drew Reckart was efficient, going 6-for-7 for 101 yards and a touchdown. The Cougars' ground game remained impressive with 361 total yards on 59 carries. Carroll Moore led Edgewood with 101 yards and a TD on 16 carries. Eddie Driskell caught five passes for 93 yards and a score.
Northwest quarterback Brandon Shelton had a big game, but the Knights were unable to keep up with Edgewood's rushing game. Shelton was forced to throw, down 28-0 at halftime, and ended up 22-of-36 for 324 yards and two touchdowns.
Harrison took another step in the right direction with a 42-7 win over Ross. Harrison quarterback Frankie Young was 13-of-19 for 273 yards, three touchdowns and one interception. Matt Bonfield had 75 yards on 16 carries and two touchdowns. Nick Vanderpohl, Gerald Smith and Mitchell Crawford all had receiving touchdowns and more than 70 yards.
Ross struggled to run the ball against the Wildcats with just 26 yards on 24 attempts.
Talawanda dropped a non-conference tilt with New Richmond, 42-0. The Braves were outgained 571-113 in the game.
