Edgewood wins first SWOC tennis title


Edgewood's boys tennis team went unbeaten against conference opponents during the regular season, and yesterday at Miami University they won the SWOC tournament for the first time. 

Talawanda finished second. Harrison and Northwest tied for third. Ross and Little Miami tied for fifth. 

Edgewood's Andrew Testas was conference champion at second singles, and the Cougars' doubles team of Gordon Thornsberry and Christian Alarcon won a title at first doubles. 

Justin Bolin (Ross) was the first singles champion and was named the SWOC player of the year. 

Harrison's Braeden Keppler won a championship at third singles, Talawanda's second doubles team of Wally Kelly and Sam Wespiser took first. 

Edgewood's Ryan Fairchild was named coach of the year.
