Bowling: Harrison, Northwest, Edgewood teams book trips to district
On the boys side, Northwest and Edgewood both qualified as teams to the Division I district tournament next week. The Knights and Cougars each competed at the sectional tournament Feb. 17 at Colerain Bowl. Northwest finished seventh and Edgewood was sixth.
Northwest senior Carter Gehring placed fourth overall with a three-game series of 670. Edgewood senior Corey Short fired a 639 series for seventh overall. Senior Dakota Craft posted a 636 series for the Cougars. Northwest senior Trevor Barton tossed a 614 series.
Mount Healthy sophomore Dylan Van Kamp qualified individually for districts with a 578 series.
At the Division I sectional at Crossgate Lanes, Ross senior Daniel McVay advanced individually with a 612 series.
Harrison's girls team finished third and book a trip to districts from the Crossgate Lanes sectional Feb. 18. Northwest's girls team also qualified out of the sectional to districts as a team. The Knights came in sixth at the Colerain Bowl sectional Feb. 18.
Harrison senior Emma Kukelhan led the Wildcats as the runner-up medalist with a three-game series of 591. Senior Sydney Smith finished fifth overall for Harrison with a 556 series.
Northwest freshman Sophia Fischer led the Knights with a series of 547. Senior Ashley Carroll rolled a 524.
Little Miami senior Kay Rothermund qualified to districts as an individual with a 523 series at the Colerain Bowl sectional Feb. 18.
