WINTER Update: 12/29

Ross remains seated at the top of the standings at 5-5 overall and 3-0 in the conference. The Rams are the only team still unbeaten in conference action. The Rams look to push that conference record to 4-0 with a trip to Harrison tonight.

Ashley Parrett is leading the Ross charge so far. Parrett has posted a team-high 9.4 points, 5.6 boards, 2.6 assists and 3.1 steals per game.

Northwest junior forward Fatimah Shabazz is on an unprecedented pace, leading the conference in points (22.1), rebounds (7.9), blocks (2.3) and steals (6.0) per game. She's also third in the conference in field goal percentage (51.7).

Talawanda (6-3, 3-2) has the best winning percentage in the conference. The Braves have two of the top three scorers in the conference with Emma Wright (14.8) and Sarah Beth Richter (14.0).

Little Miami also finds itself in a nice spot at 4-3 overall and 3-1 in the SWOC. Kaitlyn Simpkins leads the Panthers with 9.0 points per game and 3.1 rebounds.

Northwest (5-4, 1-2) travels to Little Miami on Dec. 30. Little Miami is at Ross on Jan. 2, and Harrison is at Northwest.

Quite the race is heating up in the search for pins this season. Northwest currently stands atop the leaderboard at 4-0 overall and in the conference. Edgewood is one match back at 4-1 and Ross, Talawanda and Harrison have all proved they can win.

Edgewood senior Corey Short leads the boys in game average (211.8) with a trio of Ross Rams behind. From Ross, Adam Roberts averages 192.6, followed by Andrew Campbell at 187.5 and Daniel McVay at 181.6. Harrison's Austin Burnett sits fifth in average with a 177.9.
