GIRLS BASKETBALL 

Talawanda has hit the hardcourt running this season with a 4-1 start overall and 2-0 in the conference. Little Miami and Ross are also off to 2-0 starts in the conference. The Panthers are 2-2 overall and the Rams are 2-3. 

Northwest is also off to a 4-1 start but the Knights are 0-1 in the conference (53-42 loss to Ross). Edgewood is 1-6 to start, Mount Healthy's 1-4 and Harrison's 0-4. 

Northwest junior forward Fatimah Shabazz is off to a ridiculous start, averaging 22.2 points, 8.4 rebounds, 7.0 steals and 2.2 blocks per game. Talawanda senior center Sarah Beth Richter is averaging 14.6 points and 6.8 rebounds per game. Ross' Ashley Parrett leads the conference with 2.6 assists per game to go with her 9.2 points and 6.0 boards.

Middletown Madison at Talawanda, 7:30 p.m.

ACADEMIC

Little Miami and Talawanda have both started the season 4-0 with impressive wins. Those two don't meet until Jan. 12. Ross is 2-0 with a meeting against Winton Woods coming up on Dec. 16. Harrison and Northwest have each started 2-2. The Knights and Wildcats square off next Jan. 6. Edgewood and Mount Healthy have both started 0-4.
