Knights off to 3-0 start on gridiron
Northwest is the only team in the SWOC this season to win its first three football games of the season. The Knights have outscored opponents 118-53 in three contests with a week four showdown at Ross (2-1).
The Rams are coming off a 48-46 win over Western Brown -- the Rams needed a 32-yard field goal by Paul Young to win.
Edgewood started 2-0 but ran into Badin in week three and lost 41-13. The Cougars are at Lima Central Catholic Saturday night.
After two late field goals in the final minute gave Harrison a winless start, the Wildcats (1-2) beat Anderson 28-7 in week three. Quarterback Mitchell Hogue was 7-of-8 for 126 yards and two touchdowns. Alex Anderson rushed 25 times for 92 yards and two scores.
Harrison is at Little Miami in week four. The Panthers fell to a tough Indian Hill team in week three.
Mount Healthy (1-2) hasn't started the way it wanted, but the Owls have been in every game and they've played a competitive schedule. In week three, Mount Healthy lost a shootout, 48-47, against a talented Glen Este team. David Montgomery rushed for 358 yards, four touchdowns and threw for 141 yards and three more touchdowns.
Mount Healthy travels to Talawanda this week. The Braves were shutout 47-0 by Eaton last week.
