Northwest takes third in state at track meet


At the OHSAA Division I state track and field championships June 5-6 at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium on Ohio State's campus, the Northwest Knights' boys team finished third overall in the state. 

Northwest's 4x100 relay team of Myles Pringle, DeVohn Jackson, Jordan Booker and Malik Beverly won a state championship. Pringle also placed second in the 400 meters and third in the high jump. 

Edgewood junior Hannah Bush also placed with fifth in the high jump. 

Mount Healthy freshman Kayela Houston competed in the long jump and finished 13th. 

Harrison's Kaylan Gruber ran in the 100 and 200 at state, but a hamstring injury ended her run in the 200 early.
