Edgewood girls off to 6-0 start


After roughly two weeks of the girls' basketball season, Edgewood stands alone as the only remaining unbeaten team in the SWOC. The Cougars are averaging over 54 points per game while holding opponents to under 38. 

Edgewood has quite the scoring contribution from Haley Rutherford and Brittany Marts. Rutherford's averaging 14.7 points per game, second in the SWOC, while Marts is fourth in the SWOC with 13.5 a game. 

Mount Healthy's Anetra Owensby is leading the conference in scoring (22.3 ppg) and is second in assists per game (3.5). The Owls are 5-2 overall and 1-1 in the conference. 

Little Miami's also had an impressive start (4-1, 1-1). Lainee Studer is leading the Panthers with 14.2 points per game and 5.2 assists which ranks first in the SWOC. 

Talawanda's 2-4 overall but the Braves are 2-0 in conference action with wins over Harrison and Mount Healthy in overtime. Talawanda's Darby Glaab is leading the SWOC in rebounding with 11.5 per game. 

Ross is currently 2-3. Northwest is 2-2 and Harrison is 1-4.
