Football Season Halfway Done


After five weeks, two SWOC teams remain undefeated: Harrison (5-0) and Mount Healthy (5-0).

Harrison got to 5-0 in a thriller against Talawanda, 45-39. Harrison senior quarterback Jake Weber was 21 of 27 passing for 344 yards and three touchdowns. Talawanda senior running back Maurice Thomas (Miami University commit) rushed 23 times for 335 yards and four touchdowns.

Harrison receivers Mitchell Hogue and Mitchell Crawford both had over 100 yards receiving and a touchdown catch.

Mount Healthy beat Little Miami, 34-7. Hjavier Pitts had 14 carries for 122 yards and three touchdowns, coupled with David Montgomery's 117 yards and a TD for the Owls.

Ross improved to 3-2 overall (1-1 in SWOC) with a 35-14 win over Edgewood. Ross quarterback Dustin Foley threw for 152 yards with a touchdown, and rushed for 105 yards with a touchdown. Ross senior running back John Kinkaid tacked on 106 yards, three touchdowns no 18 carries.

Northwest struggled against the top-ranked team in Division II, La Salle. The Knights fell 48-6. Quarterback Brandon Shelton threw for 208 yards and a touchdown in the loss.
