Three Down, Seven To Go

Football scores from week three

Talawanda 27, Eaton 10

Western Brown 28, Ross 17

Tecumseh 14, Northwest 9

Badin 42, Edgewood 7

Mount Healthy 34, Glen Este 7

Harrison 45, Anderson 13

Harrison and Mount Healthy stand alone at the top of the conference standings, both remain undefeated at 3-0. Harrison pulled away and won big for the first time this season. Quarterback Jake Weber threw for 172 yards and two touchdowns. Weber also ran 81 yards and two touchdowns. Harrison running back Alex Anderson had 21 carries for 156 yards and two touchdowns. Mitchell Hogue continued to make his presence felt with two more touchdown grabs for the Wildcats.

Mount Healthy is no stranger to 3-0 starts. The Owls outscored host Glen Este 28-0 in the second half. Quarterback David Montgomery rushed for 2 TDs and 77 yards; Hjavier Pitts added 60 yards rushing.

Talawanda senior running back Maurice Thomas (Miami University commit) rushed 29 times for 304 yards and 3 TDs in Friday's 27-10 win over Eaton. Thomas will be tested this Friday going against Mount Healthy, a defense that's been stingy against the run this season.

Ross fell to top-ranked Western Brown Friday night. The Rams led at halftime, but were outscored 21-7 in the second half and didn't score at all in the fourth quarter. Ross senior John Kinkaid had 28 carries for 157 yards and a touchdown.

Northwest and Tecumseh went back and forth in a defensive struggle. The Knights couldn't take a lead late and dropped their first game of the season.

Edgewood struggled to get anything going. The Cougars are at Western Hills on Friday.
