Swimmers heading upstate


The SWOC will be heavily represented at the state swimming and diving meet this coming weekend. On the boys side, Talawanda finished fourth as a team at the Division II District meet. The Braves qualified their 200 medley relay team (Jesus Caraballo, Scott Richmond, Adam Mandrell and Josh Crowder), 200 free relay team (Luke Lentini, Dylan Brading, Noah Lentini and Adam Mandrell), and the 400 free relay (Jesus Caraballo, Adam Mandrell, Scott Richmond and Josh Crowder). Individually, Jesus Caraballo qualified for state in the 200 free and 100 fly. Josh Crowder qualified in the 50 free and 100 free, while Scott Richmond will compete in the 200 individual medley and 100 breast. 

Edgewood's Zach Apple became the school's first swimmer to qualify for state when he finished first in the 50 free at District meet. 

On the girls side, Wilmington's Madeline Schaffer 200 individual medley at the Division II District meet and qualified for state.
